Course
Dear Guests,Over the last years laparoscopy has gained a footing in almost all surgical fields. Since the establishment of laparoscopy in gynaecology, decisive impulses have continued to originate from the Kiel Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Many standard operations can now be performed entirely endoscopically and new technologies allow advances into areas which were unthinkable only a few years ago. Over the last twenty years, under the guidance of Professor Liselotte Mettler, the Kiel School of Gynaecological Endoscopy has made a signifcant contribution to the training of skilled endoscopists. Since its founding in 1986, the Kiel School has always stood for a healthy combination of welltried methods and innovative ideas. In 2007, under the direction of Dr. Thoralf Schollmeyer, the school continues to offer challenging courses which definitely make a trip to Kiel worthwhile. In this spirit, I look forward to welcoming you to the Kiel Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Walter Jonat |
Constant changes in medicine and medical technology strongly influence surgical procedures. Therefore, it is essential to learn and practise not only standard procedures in gynaecological endoscopy but also new surgical methods and to become familiar with the latest techniques and instruments.
Our courses aim to give you this opportunity. It is a great pleasure to welcome you to the Kiel Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, with its long tradition of medical achievement. In our clinically orientated courses, we hope you will be able to acquire the theoretical and practical skills necessary to offer your patients in “your” operating room the best treatment possible. Welcome to Kiel! Thoralf Schollmeyer |
