First Endo Compact Course

The second training course of the Kiel School of Gynaecological Endoscopy was again successfully completed by all participants. For the first time, we offered a “compact course“ over 3 days. The participants were able to observe 4-5 live operations daily.

The course focussed on the different forms of laparoscopic hysterectomy and this was reflected in the surgical programme on all 3 days. In addition, endometrial ablation with the Novasure method (Cytyc, Pohlheim, Germany) and a new energy platform of the Tyco Healthcare Company were demonstrated. Besides the practical demonstrations, different knotting techniques were trained in the afternoon on the pelvitrainer, the virtual reality trainer and on animal organs. The learning effect of the extensive training programme was controlled at the end of the course and each participant received 30 further education points.
