Specialised Advanced Training Course, June 2011

Twelve participants successfully completed the three-day specialised advanced training course in gynaecological endoscopy (MIC II) from 28th – 30th June 2011. This course focussed on uterus myomatosus and operative hysteroscopy. The participants were able to implement the new insights obtained in the live surgery sessions on models and animal organs. For the first time, the participants were able to train on the new TLH model for closure of the vagina.

Numerous informative lectures were given by Professor Liselotte Mettler, Dr. Ibrahim Alkatout, Dr. Mohamed Elessawy, Dr. Thoralf Schollmeyer, Dr. Sibylle Tomlinson (Nordic Pharma) and Mr Stuart Grant (Fisher & Paykel Healthcare). Guest lecturer Professor Stefan Müller-Hülsbeck, Director of the Department of Radiology at the Diako in Flensburg, and guest surgeon and lecturer Dr. Bernd Holthaus, Medical Director of the St. Elizabeth Hospital in Damme, made a significant contribution to the success of the training course.
